I am a certified trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and attended Virginia Commonwealth University, majoring in exercise science with a minor in psychology. I grew up a few minutes from Richmond, and have lived here all my life.
My passion for training stems from an ACL and meniscus tear I suffered in 2014 and the rehabilitation that followed. I was a long-time athlete, but the recovery process exposed me to the importance of strength training, mobility, and efficient movement systems.
My training experience has principally been in the group setting, although I also have experience at the one-on-one level. I previously interned with OrthoVirginia and plan to begin a Doctor of Physical Therapy program in the fall. Being a significant part of my clients' journey to healing and strength has made me realize how important the intersection of the two paths are to a life well-lived. I am admittedly a bit of of cheerleader, but I love what we are doing with evidence-based programming for weight loss, body composition goals, and longevity.
